Types of Billing accounts
Classification by usage
Based on the service usage stage, accounts are classified as follows:
- Unused Account: an account that has not used any services.
- Trial Account: an account that is currently in the trial period, with free service usage.
- Paid Account: an account that needs to pay fees to use the services, which is further divided into 2 types based on the billing method below.
New customers are defaulted to the unused state. When a customer generates their first resource, the account will automatically switch to the trial state. To upgrade to a paid account, customers need to access the dashboard to upgrade the services they are using.
Classification by billing method
Prepaid: this is the default method of the system. Prepaid customers must have sufficient funds in their Balance before creating resources. The subscription invoice for prepaid customers is generated and paid from the Balance immediately after the customer creates the resource, containing usage from the current time until the end of the billing period.
Postpaid: customers receive invoices on the regular invoice date. The issued invoice contains the usage costs for the previous billing period. Postpaid customers only need to pay the costs at the end of the billing period.
The billing method applies to the account level and is not applicable to individual services.
