Pay as you go
Definition
Pay as you go (PAYG) is a payment method where you pay for what you use. This is a widely used payment method for cloud services around the world.
Calculation Method
With the PAYG calculation method, the usage data and costs of resources are finalized hourly. The usage costs will be temporarily deducted from the Balance as soon as they are finalized, but an invoice will only be issued when certain conditions are met.
Conditions for issuing a PAYG invoice:
- The temporary amount reaches the cost threshold, which is set to 100,000 VND by default. This means that when the estimated usage cost reaches 100,000 VND, an invoice will be issued.
- The temporary amount exceeds the current Balance.
- On the periodic invoice date.
- When a service is deleted.
For example, the usage timeline of the Simple Storage service, from 1 AM to 7 AM:
Compared to the calculation method for variable resources, PAYG has the same calculation method (finalized hourly), but differs in the invoicing process.
