Create policy for automatic backup

Automatic backup is a useful feature when using the Cloud Backup service. You won’t have to worry about the number of backup versions filling up memory, when to delete backups, or what time is appropriate for backups… Everything will be automated through policy.

Policy is considered a property of the machine; when creating a machine, you need to create a new policy or select an existing policy for it.

How to create a Policy

Step 1: The policy creation dialog appears when creating a machine; select Add Policy:

Step 2: In the Add Policy dialog, fill in the necessary information:

  • 1: Name Policy: The identifier name of the policy
  • 2: Number of Backup stored: The number of backup versions to keep. If a new backup exceeds the storage limit, the system will automatically delete the oldest backup.
  • 3: Description: A description for the policy
  • 4: Schedule Backup: The backup frequency of the policy. Available options: hourly, daily, weekly, monthly
  • 5:
    • For hourly frequency: you can select minutes 1, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 59 as the backup time
    • For daily frequency: you can select an hour of the day (from 0h to 23h) as the backup time
    • For weekly frequency: you can select an hour of the day (from 0h to 23h) and a day of the week (from Monday to Sunday) as the backup time
    • For monthly frequency: you can select an hour of the day (from 0h to 23h) and a day of the month (from 1 to 31) as the backup time
  • Select Create to complete the creation of the policy

The newly created policy will be automatically selected for the new machine, or you can also select previously created policies:
